A building is situated on property adjacent to an Ontario Hydro transformer station (TS). The distance from the building to the fence along the boundary of the TS was estimated to be about 100 m. Two twin circuit 46 kV wood pole distribution lines pass along the edge of the property just on the building's side of the fence.

The building had been offered for sale. The request for an evaluation of magnetic fields was made as a result of concerns being raised by potential purchasers about power frequency (60 Hz) magnetic fields associated with the adjacent TS.

RHSC carried out measurements throughout the building and along the boundary of the property adjacent to the neighbouring TS, discussed the significance of the observed levels comparing them to levels in other occupational, commercial and residential environments.
